Adams Brown Counties Economic
Opportunities, Inc. (ABCEOI), with more than $9 million in funding through
the state and federal government, serves low and moderate income families
as well as the general public in Adams and Brown counties. ABCEOI sponsors a
wide variety of programs that provide food, clothing, child care, senior
services, energy conservation, job training, and recycling services.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services were formed July 1, 2000,
with the merger of the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services and the Ohio
Department of Human Services.
ODJFS develops and oversees programs and services for adoption, child
care, child support, foster care, abuse prevention for children and the
elderly, disability, food stamps, women’s’ services, job
services for employers and employees, Unemployment Compensation, Medicaid,
and veterans’ services.

United Way 211 offers free, confidential information and referral
services 24 hours a day, seven days a week for residents of Brown,
Hamilton, and Clermont counties. 211 connects you to caring professionals
who can help you in handling problems with children, aging parents, health
concerns, employment, and counseling needs.
United Way 211 can also help you find volunteer opportunities that fit
your needs and skills.

Brown County Family Counseling serves the severely mentally disabled of Brown County with individual and group
counseling, case management, medication management, and Assertive Community
Treatment for those who meet admission criteria. Other outpatient services
for the general public include treatment for depression, anxiety disorders,
and substance abuse. In addition to services at 75 Banting Drive and the satellite,
724 South High in Mt. Orab, agency staff serve the Alternative Schools
and coordinate day treatment services at Clermont Recovery
Center for Brown
County Adolescents with substance abuse. From senior services to early
school grades, age does not limit the clinical services available.

Children Protective Services Programs: Receives reports of possible
child abuse or neglect. Family counseling, out-of-home placement, adoption,
child care services and licensing of child care centers and residential
programs.
Children Services Prevention Programs: Provides prenatal support and
early intervention services for children from birth to three years.
Supports local child abuse/neglect prevention and teen pregnancy prevention
programs.
Child Support Program: Oversees operation of the Child Support
Enforcement Agency. CSEA provides child support services to families in Brown County and works with the courts in
establishing, enforcing, and modifying child support payment orders. CSEA
also helps establish paternity for children born out of wedlock, helps in
locating absent parents, and assists in resolving payment problems.
